Barty Bat's Birthday

 Barty Bat’s Birthday

By Brant and Sephora Christensen

(with some help from Mom and Dad)

For Uncle Ross on his birthday.

Barty Bat was turning 12.  His friends, Marty Monster and Reggie Rex were taking him camping to celebrate.

Reggie Rex drove everyone to the woods. They set up their tent and built a fire.

It was getting dark. So, they got their supplies out for roasting hot dogs and hamburgers.

They ate banana candy and then brushed their teeth before bed.

In the morning, they woke up and had a fruit salad for breakfast.

A big rainstorm hit, and they went inside their tent. But their tent didn’t blow away. Then lighting struck and thunder boomed.

When the storm stopped, their friend, Katy Cat came and asked them to go on a bike ride. Before their ride they shared coffee and cookies.

It was a happy bike ride. They snacked on black licorice and had fun.

Later that day, Barty Bat and his friends had a party to celebrate his birthday.

Marty Monster gave Barty a penguin balloon and Reggie Rex gave him a toy dragon that he had been wanting and a Smurf puzzle. Katy Cat gave Barty Bat a book.

At the party, they had milkshakes and Barty’s favorite cracker snack. Barty Bat’s friends sang happy birthday and they ate a bat cake that Reggie Rex baked.

“Thank you,” said Barty, “it was my best birthday ever!”

The end.
